What makes a good deal post
Name the exact product: brand, model, capacity, size or colour. "Cheap headphones" helps nobody; "Sony WH-1000XM5, black" does.
If you list a previous price, make it a real one: what the product usually sells for, not an inflated figure that makes the discount look bigger.
Link straight to the product page, not the store's homepage or a link shortener.
Use a clear product image and spell out any conditions: coupon codes, minimum spend, shipping, members-only pricing or an end date.
One deal per post, no duplicates
Each post should cover a single deal. If a store has several good offers, post them separately.
Search before you post. If someone has already shared it, vote and add to the conversation instead of posting it again.
Be upfront
If you work for the store, make the product or have any stake in the sale, say so clearly in the description. Sharing your own products isn't banned; hiding the connection is.
Keep comments respectful
Criticise the deal, not the person. Add something useful: prices elsewhere, hands-on experience, alternatives, or a heads-up that the deal has ended.
Insults, harassment, discrimination and offensive content aren't tolerated.
Vote honestly
Vote on the deal, not on who posted it. A downvote means "this price isn't that great", not "I don't like this person".
Don't use multiple accounts or team up with others to push a deal's temperature up or down.
What we remove
Fake or misleading deals and made-up prices; spam and links to dodgy sites; undisclosed self-promotion; duplicates; content that is illegal, offensive or infringes someone else's rights; and any attempt to game the votes.
What happens if you break the rules
Depending on how serious it is, we may reject or remove your content, give you a warning, or suspend your account temporarily or for good. If you're banned, don't create new accounts to get around it.
If you spot something that breaks these guidelines, report it. If you think we got it wrong, email us at hello@hotdrop.app.
