What is hotdrop?
A community where people share the deals they find, online and in stores. Everyone votes on each deal and the best ones rise to the top. We don't sell anything: links take you straight to the store.
How does temperature work?
Every upvote adds 17° to a deal and every downvote takes 17° away. Temperature is the community's verdict: above 700° a deal is on fire, and below 0° it's considered cold.
You can change or remove your vote at any time.
What is karma, and how do I level up?
Your karma is the total temperature your deals have earned, plus 25 points for every deal you've published. Your karma sets your level: Rookie, Hunter (from 500), Expert (from 2,000) or Legend (from 5,000).
How do I post a deal?
Log in and hit "Post". Add the link to the deal, a clear title and the current price, plus the previous price, store, category and an image if you have them. The more complete your post, the easier it is for the community to judge it.
Before posting, search to check nobody has shared it already, and take a quick look at our community guidelines.
Why is my deal pending or rejected?
Every new deal is reviewed by a moderator before it appears publicly, and it shows as pending until then. You'll get an in-app notification once it's been reviewed, whether it was approved or not.
If it's rejected, the notification tells you why, for example because it's a duplicate, it has expired or the price is wrong. You're welcome to fix it and post it again.
How do alerts work?
On the alerts page you can create an alert with a keyword and, optionally, a maximum price and a minimum temperature. You'll see how many deals matched in the last 7 days, and you'll get an in-app notification whenever an approved deal matches.

How do I report a deal or comment?
Use the "Report" option on the deal or comment and pick a reason: spam, expired, wrong price, offensive or other. Our moderators review every report and can remove content or ban accounts where needed.
How do I change the language?
hotdrop is available in English and Spanish. Switch language from the selector in the header or footer, and we'll remember your choice next time.
I forgot my password
On the login page, click "Forgot your password?" and enter your email address. We'll send you a link to set a new one. If you're already logged in, you can also change it from your account settings.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your account settings and use the delete option. This is permanent: your profile is removed along with your deals, comments, votes, saved deals, follows and alerts. It can't be undone.
